Climb at Robinson Bluff
Robinson Bluff is a Midwest sport climber's paradise. Here, face climbing prevails, but don't miss the spicy overhangs or obvious cracks. The towering Dolomite limestone walls - some of which are multi-pitch - differ from most Missouri climbing with inspiring color and textured lines.
Robinson Bluff is divided into two main rock climbing areas, north and south, bisected by a grand, wooden staircase. Climbs south of the stairs start with the Lily Wall, also known as the Beehive Wall for its 100' namesake route. Climbs south of the stairs are generally taller with great movement and a wide range of ratings. Crags north of the stairs include the Goblin Gratto, Red Dihedral Wall and Picasso Wall. As the first wall bolted at Robinson Bluff, the Red Dihedral Wall has a lot of our favorite moderate routes and offers practice rap anchors at its left end.
Most of Robinson Bluff's boulder problems are at the North End Boulders, located on the far north end of the bluff line as its name suggests. Most problems are roughly 15' tall and range from V-easy to V5. Approach the North End Boulders via the Express/River Trail or follow the emergency access road from the campground to the north end of the cliff exposure.
